Step 1: Accessing Softaculous

Log in to your web hosting control panel

Look for the Softaculous Apps Installer or Softaculous icon, and click on it.
Step 2: Locating WHMCS in Softaculous

In Softaculous, you'll find a search bar or a list of available applications. Type WHMCS in the search bar or scroll down until you find it in the list.

Click on the WHMCS icon to proceed with the installation.
Step 3: Pre-Installation Setup

Click on the Install button to start the installation process.

Fill in the required details:
- Choose Protocol: Select the appropriate protocol (http:// or https://) for your website. It's always recommended to use https://, WHMCS won't function correctly without the use of HTTPS. If you do not have an SSL certificate installed, here is how to issue an SSL on cPanel
- Choose Domain: Choose the domain where you want to install WHMCS.
- In Directory: Leave this field blank if you want WHMCS to be installed directly on your chosen domain (e.g., example.com). If you want it installed in a subdirectory (e.g., example.com/whmcs), enter the desired subdirectory name here.
- Admin Directory: By default WHMCS will install your admin dashboard directory under "admin", if you want to use a different directory name you can enter your desired admin directory here.
- Admin Username: Enter a username for your WHMCS admin account.
- Admin Password: Enter a strong password for your WHMCS admin account.
- Admin Email: Provide the email address associated with your WHMCS admin account.
- Optionally, you can modify other settings like the database name, table prefix, and language settings. However, the default settings should work for most installations.

Click on the Install button to begin the installation process.
Step 4: Installation Progress

Softaculous will now install WHMCS on your hosting account. You'll see a progress bar indicating the installation status.

Once the installation is complete, you will see a success message with links to your WHMCS site and WHMCS admin panel.
Step 5: Accessing WHMCS
To access the WHMCS admin panel, go to yourdomain.com/admin (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain). If you chose to have a custom admin directory in Step 3, replace "admin" with the custom directory you chose.
Step 6: Post-Installation Tasks
- After installing WHMCS, it's crucial to follow these post-installation tasks:
- Secure your WHMCS installation by using strong passwords and enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for the admin account.
- Check WHMCS > Utiltiies > Update WHMCS to make sure you are on the latest version of WHMCS.
- Familiarize yourself with WHMCS and configure it according to your hosting business needs.
